And, Finally NASA - Oct., 2007 This place is awesome! Piqua, Ohio - 2004- Most people think I'm full of it, when I tell them about the nuclear power in the city of Piqua! This nuclear power plant (I believe the first in the US) was built in the early 50's as a test unit. It was used with limited success. It was shut down in the 60's and reactor was dismantled and the core was filled in concrete and a lead shield. It still gets inspected annually, but this is suppose to end in about 25 years. This shot has nothing to do with railroads, although it can be seen from the CSX Toledo Subdivision. This place has fascinated me since I was very young, it would make a great model! |
